How to Play
About the Game
Lucky21 is a two-player card battle. Build your field with number cards and use special cards to attack, steal, protect, or remove your opponent’s cards.
Objective
Reach 21 or more field points to win a round. Be the first player to reach 100 total match points.
Game Setup
Each round uses a standard 52-card deck without Jokers. The first player receives 5 cards and the second receives 6. The remaining cards form the draw pile. Both fields start empty with 0 points.
Turn Flow
Players take turns performing one action: draw, play a number card, attack, or use a face-card skill.
Draw a Card
Draw the top card from the deck. You may only draw when your hand contains fewer than 7 cards.
Play a Number Card
Play Ace through 10 onto your field. Its value is added to your field total: playing an 8 adds 8 points.
Attack
Use a number card from your hand to attack an opposing field card with an equal or lower value. Without a Shield, both cards are discarded. With a Shield, the attacking card and Shield are discarded, but the target remains.
J — Steal
Take one unshielded number card from your opponent’s field and add it to your field. Shielded cards cannot be stolen.
Q — Protect
Place a Shield on one of your own number cards. It blocks one attack, steal, or removal effect, then disappears.
K — Eliminate
Remove your opponent’s highest-value number card. If it has a Shield, only the Shield is removed and the number card remains.
Round End & Scoring
Reaching 21 or more points wins the round. The winner earns their final field total; the loser earns 0. Exactly 21 adds a 15-point Lucky 21 bonus, for 36 points. If the draw pile is empty and neither player has a valid move, the higher field total wins; equal totals award no points.
Winning the Match
Round points accumulate into the match score. The first player to reach 100 or more points wins the entire match.
